Event Details
Friday 4/26/13:
Campers may check in anytime after 11:00 A.M. Cabin & RV guests may check in at 2:00. (Early check in may be available. Please call to verify.)
Moonlight Paddle Trip:
This is our first ever moonlight paddle trip associated with an Outback Concert Event weekend and it is sure to be a fun experience. This trip will be escorted by Canoe Outpost staff but it should be considered a self-guided trip. Participants are responsible for their own safety just as they are on all of our day trips. We will be doing Trip 1 on the Little Manatee river (please see the trips page for a full trip description). The trip will begin just steps from your campsites as we gather by the dock at 7:15 for an orientation. We will launch at 7:30-7:45 to give us a chance to see the sunset and the change to darkness on the river.  We will stop at the picnic pavilions in the state park about 9:15 for a 30 minute break. Light snacks and soft drinks will be provided for you.  With the moon rising, we will paddle the lower half of the trip which is more open and allows greater moonlight on the water.  We should reach the end about 11:00 and busses will transport us back to the outpost.
Personal coolers are allowed. Beer & wine are allowed in moderation but must remain in your boat since the state park does not allow it. If you choose to drink, do so responsibly.
Reservations are recommended so we can be sure to have the boat you want and enough refreshments.
Saturday 4/27/13:
Campers may check in anytime after 11:00 A.M. Cabin & RV guests may check in at 2:00. (Early check in may be available. Please call to verify.) If you are checking out today, official check out time is 11:00 but check with our staff to see if late checkout is available for your site.
Daytime Activities: No organized activities are scheduled, allowing you time to explore. Take a paddle trip on the river. Go for a hike on the 6 mile trail on the north side of the river which is part of the Florida Trails system. If you are into mountain biking, take a trip to the Alafia River State park for their great trails. Just ask our staff for details.

Free Concert:
Sound Traveler Band will be playing acoustic covers of classic rock/pop/country & folk songs and some original tunes as well. The show will start at 5:30 and last until the songs are sung (7:30 ish). This is a free concert but your tips for the band are very appreciated.
After the show, we will open up the mic to anyone wanting to play/sing a bit.
There will be a group campfire during and after the show with music and conversation around the fire until late.

We will be serving yummy food from our concession tent from 5:00 to 8:00. The will be $2 beers and $4 wines. Outside food and drinks are allowed but hey, we would appreciate it if you would help support this free event and buy a beer or some food.
Bring your lawn chairs or blankets for seating on the grass. Well behaved dogs are allowed.
